sitting

Gavin doesn't need any help sitting by himself...well, maybe a little help from Uncle Jesse!

feets

In the past few weeks, Gavin has discovered his toes. He holds them every chance he can get, which is pretty amazing considering he couldn't even reach them until recently. He was just not a flexible baby at all. But he seems to be getting much more flexible. Check out Gavin's rolls!

And just because I think he's the cutest; look at this sweet face...

and this face...

and this one, too.

four months

Here's our sweet four-month-old. Look at those cheeks! Gavin had his check up on Monday, and he's as healthy as can be, and growing like crazy, too! Keeps growing out of his cute little clothes. He is above the 95th percentile for both height and weight. This chubby little man is just so kissable!

swimming

We went to visit the Sillimans a couple weeks ago, and it was so beautiful out, we decided to go swimming. I thought Gavin would like it more than he did since he LOVES to splash around in the bath, but he didn't splash around at all. He didn't seem overly impressed, but I think he liked just bobbing around in the water. I bet he'll like it more as he gets a little older. We had fun! Thanks Sillimans!

rolling, rolling, rolling

Gavin can roll! He did it for the first time last week, and I was the only one who saw it. I tried to get a video, but he wouldn't cooperate. I'm pretty sure no one believed me because Gavin is so little. (Okay, so he's not so little, but he is only three and a half months old!) So, here's proof that my little man can roll over. He can only roll to the right, from tummy to back at this point. He's such a big boy. Love this little man!

mariners game

We took Gavin to his first Mariners game on Saturday. He made it all the way to the 7th inning. Pretty good for the little guy. The weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cold. We had lots of fun! Hope we get to take him to a couple more this summer!

P.S. We had great seats - right behind the dugout - so we were nice and close to the players. Ryan was excited to see Griffey, right in front of us!

laughing

Gavin first laughed a couple of weeks ago, and it is so cute! He smiles and giggles more and more everyday. It's funny to see what makes him laugh, and then funnier to see how many times we'll do or say something silly just to hear him giggle. What a sweetie.

5.26.2009

blessed

Gavin was blessed last Sunday, the 17th. It was a great day! We were so happy to have almost all of Gavin's uncles in the blessing circle - we were just missing Uncle Carson and Uncle Chad. Thank you, family, for coming to be with us, and making the long trip to be here!

two month stats

Gavin had his two month check up this morning. He was so good, and only cried for a minute with the immunization shots. I think he's been feeling okay today, but not great. He's mostly just wanted to nurse and sleep since we got home this morning. Other than that, he's our happy, healthy little man!

Here's where he's at right now:
Height: 24.5" (93rd percentile)
Weight: 14 lbs 9.4oz (97th percentile) - he's pretty much doubled his weight since birth
Head circumference: 15.75 (51st percentile)

sweet baby

Gavin will be two months on Wednesday, but here are a couple pictures of him at two weeks - just because I think he's cute.

going for a walk

Gavin loves being in his stroller. I think he likes the motion, and depending on how tired he is, he always falls asleep sooner or later. We've been trying to walk everyday, especially now that it's warm and sunny out!

Here's Gavin all ready to head out on one of our colder days - all bundled up!

4.06.2009

three weeks

Gavin is three and a half weeks old, and starting to get a little chub on him. We went to see a lactation consultant yesterday, and he now weighs 10lbs 4oz. It's like he's gaining a pound every week. He's such a cutie. Smiles lots. Loves to be talked to. Loves when you whistle for him. Loves to touch Daddy's whiskers. Loves when you sing to him. What a sweetie.

3.28.2009

two weeks

Gavin had his two week checkup on Thursday the 26th. He's healthy and doing some good growing. Since his newborn checkup, he's gained over a pound and grew over an inch, which makes sense because I feel like all he does is eat! I think this little boy is going to be tall like his daddy - at least I hope he isn't short like me. Here are his two week stats:

Weight: 8lbs 9.8oz (46th percentile)
Length: 21.5 in (79th percentile)
Head circumference: 14.25 in (32nd percentile)

P.S. Like Gavin's Lydig gear?

week one

We're so happy to have Gavin home with us! My family all came to meet him, and stayed for the weekend! It was so fun to have everyone here. Family - come back soon! We just really missed Uncle Sean, but he's in Hawaii, studying hard and golfing hard.

My mom stayed with us for a week to help take care of me and Gavin. I loved it! And, so did Ryan, because that meant he had one more week of good night sleeps. It was so nice to have her here. We didn't get to go out or do anything exciting, but it was just really nice to have her here to talk to, to have someone get up with me every time Gavin woke up through the night, to make sure we had food in our tummies, and to keep things clean and organized. All this little boy does is eat, sleep, and fill his diaper - but it seems to take up all of my time, and I'm not in enough of a routine or schedule to get anything else done! Today will be an interesting day - the first day Momma and Gavin are home by themselves all day long. Yikes!

Gavin misses everyone, and can't wait to meet Uncle Sean! Come back soon! We love you!

3.18.2009

baby boy

We finally have our baby boy with us!

We went in to the hospital for a scheduled induction at 12:30pm on Wednesday, March 11, and they had me started on pitocin just after 2pm. Things weren't really happening, so they broke my water at 7pm, and by 10, I was ready for an epidural - which I loved! It was nice to get to sleep a little (when the nurses weren't poking at me, or the blood pressure cuff wasn't doing it's thing every 20 minutes). Just before 4am I was at 10cm and ready to get that baby out, so Gavin Takeo Dahle was born on March 12, 2009 at 4:35am, 7lbs-8oz, 20.1in long. So sweet. His daddy's little twin...he looks nothing like me, and completely like Ryan.

Ryan's family (except for Chad and his family) all came to meet Gavin that day. My family got to Washington later that night and came to see us. My mom, dad, sisters, brothers-in-law, neice, and nephew all came to visit for the weekend (we were missing my little brother), and my mom stayed and is here helping me for the week.

Gavin is a good baby! The first couple of nights were tiring - especially for Ryan and my mom who stayed up with him all night so I could sleep between feedings - but the last couple of nights have been really good. He eats for half hour, then sleeps for 2 or 3 hours. He's such a good baby! Hope he keeps up this schedule. We love him to pieces!

Lots of pictures of Gavin's first day of life...

nearing the end

Hopefully, this is the last pregnant picture! Our due date is tomorrow, but I'm really just hoping that the baby decides he's ready by next Wednesday at the latest. (I know, it's not up to me.) Mom, Dad, TT, and Carson are planning on coming on the 12th, so there better be a baby for them to come see!

(03.03.09)

I'm really ready for this little boy to be here! My house is spotless - there is no more cleaning that can be done. I have nothing left to occupy my mind, so it's just waiting now...

2.28.2009

one week

Baby is due in one week. I'm trying not to count the days because I know there's very little chance he'll actually be born on his due date, but we're getting so close! I am very excited.

2.23.2009

rock-a-bye baby

Ryan's dad surprised us and built a cradle for the baby - the first Dahle grandson. He made it from a 100 year old apple tree. I like how it's naturally all different colors. And an awesome thing about it is that it comes apart really easily so it can be stored flat for the next baby. Smart.
