Sunday, Ryan and I were heading to the hospital to preregister and go for the birth center tour. We were joking around, talking about what we would do if our car broke down on the way to the hospital for the real thing. Haha, that would be ridiculous, eh? This car is old, but has never given us any problems before. And then at that very moment - our car actually broke down! You've got to be kidding! Who should we call? Oh, wait - we can't call anyone, because we both forgot our cell phones. What do we do? Surely someone will stop. No, they just keep driving when they see a guy and his wife, who happens to be nine months pregnant, walking away from a broken down car on the side of the highway. Keep walking. No gas stations. Cars just driving by.
Miracle! A tow truck comes along, Ryan waves, and the guy actually stops and takes two minutes to hook up our car. No garages open on Sunday, so he takes us and our car home. How much do we owe you, nice Japanese man? Thinking this is probably going to be $200 or more. No, just $40 and call it good. Ryan gives him $60. Thank you, thank you!
Now we only have one working vehicle. Ryan's brother-in-law, who is smart and good with cars, came over to look at the car that night - which was so nice of him. They think they can fix it. But, even then, would I feel all that safe driving it? Probably not. A new car? I don't think that will happen anytime soon. We'll figure it out and make do with what we have.
Not very fun, but here's a look at the bright side... It really is a blessing that this happened when it did and not while I was by myself, or on the way to the hospital to actually have the baby! Oh, I am SO grateful Ryan was there and that I wasn't in labor or anything crazy like that! Plus, the timing of the tow truck man was amazing, and that he saved us some money was also awesome! Seriously, a miracle. So, I really can't be that mad because in this dumb situation we've been blessed, and it'll all work out just fine in the end.

CRAZY! I'm so glad that happened now and not when you're in labor...that would be awful. HOpefully you can get your car fixed or even a new one! =) Good luck in the next month, call if you need anything, even though I'm like an hour away.
lots of little miracles like this have been happening...my friend had a similar experience but she wasn't on the way to the hospital or anything...I'm surprised you guys didn't have your cells and people didn't help you guys sooner seeing that you are 9 months pregnant, are they blind...well I'm glad you guys are ok.
What a tender mercy!
Good luck having the baby come soon!
oh my GOODNESS!! I hate it when people don't stop. Our car broke down in Utah outside of the opera (lol) and no one would help us. I was prego with Lizzy at the time. I think people secretly think it isn't a baby bump but more like a bazooka and that is why they won't stop.
That is so Awesome!!! Isn't it wonderful to see the Lords hand in everything!!! I am glad that it happend when your hubby was around too. I hope all is well!!! : )
Hey Megan! I'm glad you found my blog. Because that means I got to find your blog. Do you mind if I add you to my friends list? That's crazy about what happened on the way to the hospital... You know if you're in labor and Ryan's not home I can give you a ride to the hospital if you need one. Also, you should come to play group tomorrow at 10 at the church... It's fun :)
